Durat speckles

Q+A

Here’s an overview of the speckle styles available: (CLASSIC SPECKLES)

These fine, small-scale speckles are available across the Durat Classic range as well as RAL base colours. They provide a subtle terrazzo-style effect, created by incorporating recycled plastic granules during manufacturing. Classic speckles come at the standard pricing tier and include a variety of options: clear, black and white, grey, grey blends, and both sparse and dense multicolour speckles. The dense multicolour version is created using offcuts and recycled Durat sheets from previous production cycles.

Endless Colour Possibilities

Durat offers a wide range of bold and vibrant colour bases — with hundreds of options, including shades from the RAL Classic chart. The surface itself has a unique, dimensional quality and can also be custom-tinted to suit your design needs. With nine standard speckle patterns available, each colour can be enhanced with clear, black, white, or multicolour flecks. These speckles subtly influence the appearance of the base colour, often making it feel richer, deeper, or warmer depending on the combination.

Bespoke R&D

For projects that call for something truly unique, Durat offers bespoke research and development options. In addition to customising existing speckle patterns, designers can specify both fine and large speckles, individually tinted, cast, and granulated using colours from the RAL Classic chart.

If the standard Durat or RAL base colours don’t fully align with your vision, the base itself can be custom tinted to match a specific reference — such as a Pantone shade, ceramic tile, or paint swatch. To achieve the closest match possible, a physical sample is required for comparison during the production process. This tailored approach involves additional time, sampling, and costs, as it goes through a specialised R&D workflow. Check out their collection.
